This is a poem about how I feel day in and day out.

Standing on the outside of myself

Everyone thinks they know

The pain I have on my shelf

Everyone thinks it's all a show

And I play the lead star

Am I going way too far?

Dancing with demons is my pastime

Hold back things nobody knows

Dancing with demons is my crime

And history is what shows

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

Like a pheonix, I shall rise

At the moment there's no one I can trust

But love is the ultimate prize

I like this poem. It's relatable to a lot of people, but at the same time has its own unique voice. And the message to keep holding on and believe in one's self rings true. Thanks for writing and publishing this!

Really good poem! I liked the metaphors that you creatively used. What I loved the most is the last stanza which is really a punch! "like a pheonix I shall rise" is really a powerful line. But what I felt was that the last two lines doesn't seem to fit with this epic line. That was my insight. Overall, great poem :)
