The Ochtfochlach is an Irish poetry form. The meter should be consistent and the rhyme scheme is aaabcccb.

Honey

I find it kind of tragi-funny

how many queue to call her ‘Honey’

when all she sees is lots of money.

They cannot see that they’re misled.

She lets them think that they have scored

while wrapping them in strengthened cord.

She’ll toy with them until she’s bored

and then she’ll cut the thread.

Thanks, Mike. I had to give it a go, it coming from over here, but I've got to admit I find poetry forms a real challenge.

Thanks for giving it a read. I felt like I had to give the form a go as it was Irish.
