Prisoner

Before I knew I got my wings
They made a cage to fence me in
Put me in chains and took the key
And made a prisoner out of me
But after all I realize
The strength that comes from being weak
I see the world behind the bars
Of prison that belongs to me
My will is forcing me to fight the pain
The instinct can’t be wrong:
The wild is calling from within
A prisoner of a dying world!

It's never easy to go your own way, and it can be lonely when you don't fit in. Excellent poetry.
