Words cause pain or comfort; they carry anger or kindness; they share love or hate. Choose them wisely.

Words can slice a loving soul

leave it with a gaping hole

spiraling out of control

impossible to console.

Words can shelter in a storm

blanket one and keep them warm

protect from things that may deform

encourage one to not conform

Words can offer up a kiss

wrap you in a hug of bliss

let you know how much you miss

throw you into loves' abyss

Words are powerful it's true

Stop and think before you spew

Careful what your words will do

Let them be your better you.

Perfectly put! Words can be the strongest of weapons, but they can be the complete opposite too.

That last line is so beautiful. I think it's something everyone should aspire to do with the words they speak. Thanks for once again putting out a cool poem. :)

Great poem. Love the rythme. Words can be a very powerful weapon. It can defend and also attack.
