A short poem recently revised, telling the life journey, in nautical imagery of two mutually devoted lovers - to the ultimate end of their journey.

A Quest Of Reciprocal Reach

My ship, that braves the waves of days,
sets its sails for you.

You are the course and destination,
and the winds to which I hew.

I voyage 'cross a sinuous world;
tempestuous seas I ran...

An ocean of careening peril, you're
guide-star for this helmsman.

I captain not, the craft, sans aid,
nor face, alone, spindrift frontier.

Devotion binds a mutual tack.
...Your  trust becalms all fear.

There, by my side, you champion us,
'gainst Poseidon, St. Elmo,

.......................................and the breaker's roar.

The passage transits; our love and we,
together, unto last darkling shore.
