A poem reflecting on memory.

There's a twilight beam of light

Upon my window

And the winter's spiny frost

Upon the glass.

Like a shadow moves

When candles move about

The two have formed a window

To the past.

My life has taken bows

With pictured clips

Of this and that

And things that came before.

All the things

I did with thoughtless provocation

Passed before me

And then they slammed the door.

The mind is like a camera

Taking pictures

Bits and pieces

Are remembered with each flash

All else is just a blurry

Scattered maze

Reforming like the Phoenix

From the ash.

This seems to allude the notion of stream of consciousness...and sense memory...evocative.

It could well be, but try not to overthink it. I meant it to be more about the emotions one get from their visuals, "the slamming of the door" --- "The ashes" --- like that. --- Thanks for reading, and the thought provoking comment. I'll have to think about it.
