Don't take this to mean I, in any way, am not relieved and ecstatic over Biden winning the presidential election--it was the ONLY choice if we want democracy to have a chance to survive, and the only choice if you champion truth, honesty, and human decency itself, but I'm extremely worried about Trump's attitude, acceptance, agreement with, and wide-spread support among voters; and what his supporters are going to do, or are willing to do to get what they want. But, at the same time, I also I see a lot of celebrating and gloating on the liberals' part, and, while I agree with and completely understand their viewpoint, I also feel that our nation is fractured, so broken, that this us verses them mentality is a huge problem which will still be here long after Trump has slithered his way back into the swamp from whence he came.
And we seem to be careening from one extreme to the other. There's a knee jerk and dangerous need to take revenge on the other side when your side triumphs. It shouldn't be, can't be, a winner take all proposition, because that means the very idea of America loses. It's what our politics has become, and to me it's scary and depressing, and if we continue down this pot-holed road of anger and hate we're on, we're going to smash into a brick wall.

This is what we have become. A Jerry Springer, Maury, influencer society. We want confrontation, attitude, in your face way of life. See the USA in 2020.
The icing on the cake would be if 70-90 electors from the Electorial College become "faithless electors" and vote for Trump. Then....let the shit hit the fan. Ha! Ha!
I agree with you Mike. I would even go so far as to say that our system needs to be revamped, gutted out. But, as you have so accurately pointed out, without common ground on anything, it's extremely difficult to move forward.
Mon, December 14th, 2020 6:27pmTrump is a symptom, the underlying problem won't go away when he leaves office. Trumpies are primed to engage in a variety of bad behavior, he'll have his own TV show soon enough and he'll be egging them on.

Excellent, Mike. And this applies the world over, not just to the US. Seems the world is becoming an increasingly fragmented place.
