By Two Little Ladies, Shook
Two little girls, playing at love;
......flirty, skirty,
......smiles all perty.
All on a vibrant isle of fate;
.....coy and clever,
.....rule-breakers ever...
(Anne Boleyn and Wallace Simpson,
.....face kingpin's whim in custom's sin.)
Henry and Edward, pivotal times;
.....amused, enthralled,
.....complacency stalled.
Marriages beyond the usual stake;
.....move heaven and heart,
.....shake landscape apart...
(Anne Boleyn and Wallace Simpson,
.....accommodate the number VIII.)
Four centuries cast from one another;
.....iconoclast dice
.....craps paradise.
They rocked the earth and the turbulent seas,
.....ashes falling,
.....history calling...
(Anne Boleyn and Wallace Simpson,
.....dubious self-success, ...or happiness.)
Flamed one, a lovely Reformation;
.....continent split,
.....two truths legit.
Won one, a second world war;
.....three years, it's sung,
.....before begun...
(Anne Boleyn and Wallace Simpson,
.....pitched their charms: A planet, alarmed!)
No ladies changed more, in a thousand years;
.....popularity estranged,
.....for love, exchanged.
Two winsome women, a globe upend;
.....A present remiss,
.....without their kiss...
(Anne Boleyn and Wallace Simpson;
.....by course they took,
..................................twice, mighty world shook.)
