How She Balanced The Scale
By: Angel Acuna Robinson
Pieces of me, scattered
Throughout the grasslands:
The Grains falling from the
Surface of the scales,
She followed accumulating
Arrant parts of the whole.
Shattered Shards
Puzzle her as she
Dampens her digits,
Pricking her prints
While picking up
These pieces of me.
Bleeding with an
unmoveable grin,
She insistently savors
Every single nick—
She is adding contrast
To my landscape,
Collecting her heritage
On my canvas and
Every brush stroke
Has the reflection
Of her genome.
Each
Drop
A
Cataract of soulfully
Enriched dew imbuing
The syphoned conifers
Of my emotive reserves.
Her fingers work
The deadened space,
Blending her blood orange dusk
Seamlessly into the arduous dawn’s
Iridescent warmth:
A circling Seahawk,
The paintings focus,
Soaring with an Iris in her beak.
