It's only just begun

Being forcibly dragged towards its gaping maw,
The vortex that's bigger than any vortex you ever saw
It sucks in everything; wants, preferences, joys,
As all your hopes and dreams it gleefully destroys
It's called the passage of time, but not to me
I feel like I'm a re-imprisoned, defeated parolee
I made my escape and roamed free for a while,
But it comes for me without even a trial
I know I should enjoy this holiday horror show
Christmas, New Years, birthday all in a row
Clear one hurdle, and the next one is there,
All forced upon me, it just isn't fair!
And clearing January isn't the end of it,
The time fast-approaching deeper shit
The event horizon's a never-ending shit-show,
Starting with the day of 'ho-fricking-ho!'
Seems when you wish for its longer passing,
It's in your face, taunting and harassing
That the last verse isn't correct I'm fully aware,
But I'm too full of dread to even have a little care!
