Some parents want their children to succeed, but only on their terms.

You can pick whatever you want.

(But only from the two which I know are the best.)

You can grow up to be anything you dream!

(Though a doctor or lawyer be best, don’t you think?)

Weekends? You can play after homework.

(Don’t forget about the three tuitions later.)

You’ve got a girlfriend? How nice!

(But not allowed, she’s in the way of your studies.)

She’s a very nice girl, invite her over again.

(Or not, they won’t last the month.)

Study whatever you think your passion lies!

(But don’t you think law and medicine are better?)

WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO? AFTER ALL WE’VE DONE FOR YOU, HOW UNGRATEFUL!

Did you get a B for your first semester? That’s fine, we all make mistakes.

(Don’t make this law course one of them.)

You don’t like the girl we picked for you? Just go out one time, you’ll love her!

(She’s a daughter of that CEO, you must get along ok?)

Overwhelming stress at your job? It’s alright, we all have bad days.

(By the way, when’s your next promotion, and our overseas trip?)

WHY WOULD YOU BREAK UP WITH HER? DON’T YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO FIND SOMEONE LIKE THAT? UNGRATEFUL SON!

Congratulations on your promotion! Come home and eat with us soon ok?

(Also, can we have a bit more money?)

Getting married next month? We must call everyone!

(Your partner is rich, so I guess she can be the one.)

When are you having kids? It’s long overdue.

(And maybe they can turn out better than you.)

Fired from your job? Take your time to find a new one.

(But make sure the pay is just as good or you’re done.)

Did you get a divorce? Oh, you poor boy.

(Bring us on the trip to forget all about it.)

Depressed? You mean you’re feeling sad?

(Just man up as an adult, don’t be stupid.)

YOU KNOW HOW SAD IT WAS FOR US TO RAISE SUCH A USELESS CHILD?

Boy, it’s been 2 months. Pick up your phone.

This month there’s no money, could you transfer to us more?

Boy, did you change your number?

Boy, where did you go?
