The reasons that I stayed and the reasons that I left.

You were like an open flame

I was drawn to you as would a firefly

But as did Icarus did to the sun

I flew too close and burned my wings

You were like a novel

I would read your story everyday

But no matter how hard I tried

I couldn't turn to the next page

You were like a flower in bloom

I water you and give you sunlight

But my hands could only do so much

And I start to bleed from your thorns

Our story wasn't an easy one

I still think I was right when I left

I won't ask for absolution or forgiveness

But I truly hope that you find happiness
