In the streetlight, there is joy.

In the streetlight, there is snow.

I feel it on my face

I taste it on my tongue

I smell it on the air

In the dark, it is bare.

There is absence in the void,

There is sensationless in my skin,

There is staleness in the air,

In the streetlight, there is joy.

I dance on the powder

I swing on the lamppost

I shout on the air

In the dark, it is stillborn.

It is silent,

It is funereal,

It is lamentable,

The dark hides many secrets.

Dark secrets,

Taboo secrets,

but in the streetlight, there is joy

I think this is a poem that says way more than it does on first read. There is the snow, white, light, but there are a lot of shadows and darkness too. Great expression to show the contrasts.

Thank you, Hully!
They are two different worlds, but they live as one at times.

A lot of excellent contrast and imagery here, JB. I enjoyed this. I wonder what its like when the sun comes up.

Thank you, sweetheart.
It's a lot less moodier, that's for sure! lol And warmer. :)
