Why kill time when you can kill yourself?

Death Wish 2020

It’s the eighteenth of December, or 18/12

So it’s a Tchaikovsky kind of day

But it was more Beethoven and Mendelson

On the radio all morning.

I had to get out of the house

And go into town to hear more insults

And lies to enable me to finish my novel

The Town Without Truth in the Land of Liars

Which you claim is tautological

And others think is too alliterative

And maybe it’s both

But at least we can use a five-syllable word

In conversation, unlike the local

Mendacious scum who struggle

With their monosyllabic lies:

No wonder I just want to die.

No wonder? There is every wonder... (And FYI, December 17th is Beethoven's birthday. However, he is beyond wondering.) What you bemoan above is a celebration of differences, by your own well-worded admission - and that will certainly be in your favor when you publish your book - for you will have something different to say, and people will have something out of the ordinary to read. Bravo for you, and good luck!

Craig, I can sympathize. I really can, although with me it's more a case of not seeming to exist. Hell, these days I feel as down as you, but we'll get over it.
Keep on writing it out!

I always feel more alone than usual during the so-called festive season. I miss my children, two girls aged 18 and 21, I haven't seen for over ten years. I miss a lot and regret a lot at this time of year, so it's only natural that I tend to vent my anger and pointless misery at the world during this time. But I'm in love again, which is interesting. I haven't seen her in over 20 years, which is strange, but love is love.
Cheers and all the best,
