my soul is restless, i do not lay in peace

thoughts barge in when the Sun

and day leaves

i wake up with sweat

dripping to my feet

and my eyes learn to give birth to waters of salty tears

i breathe in: “it is a dream “

i breathe out: “it is not real”

but the darkness hugs me and whispers foul things
