Thieving punks

The midnight hour, or later than that,
Equals easy and free to be a back-ally cat

While the family all asleep snug in their beds,
Visions of their goods dance in his head

Season of giving became the season of his joy,
All free and no work make Jack a happy boy

Pries open their car door to get at the loot inside,
Helps himself then away he does ride

But only a block over, for targets were rich
This midnight hour he was out to bewitch

Here a 4X4, there a sedan, there a gold Lexus,
A veritable means and opportunity nexus

An all-you-can-steal midnight buffet
He takes, and then 'quick,' he's away

Grabs his crotch as he slithers out of sight,
"Thank you, friends!" and disappears into the night!

There's a lot of this about. Seems particularly bad right now. Excellent, Mike.

Yeah, unfortunately, thanks, Hull--a couple of our neighbors cars were broken into, and there were signs he tried to break into one house, thanks

No matter where you are, it is almost impossible to stop this kind of predation. Good poem, Mike.
