I was sitting with my husband talking about the things that I have went through when I realized the extent of my situation. I realized I was damaged but it wasn’t my fault. I’ve always blamed myself and thought it was normal to go through the things I have went through. So I decided I should write a book. A book about my life. Starting with my first memory I tell my story of being the daughter of a narcissist.

Chapter 1

I Still Remember

I opened my eyes for what felt like was the first time.  I ran out the door of a trailer and down the steps.  Running down a dirt driveway to my right I see it the horse from the pictures. It was white and blue and was held up by metal bars and rested on springs.  I remember it was mine. I remember my dad and my mom. I remember bouncing and laughing, and then In a flash i was back.  I was crying and headed somewhere. I ran down the road. It was hot I could feel the sun on my face. I came to another trailer and ran straight inside. There was a women but I can’t remember her face , but I knew her because she called my name “ Jenny “ what is wrong , why are you crying? “Where is my daddy”? I said. He’s not here she said. My heart was hurt.  I was crying and I felt lost. I ran back home and when I came in the house there stood my mom.  Where was my dad? I don’t remember anything after that.I often wonder was this when he left. Was I sad cause he was gone. Was this even a real memory? Was it something I made up in my head?  The fact is that I probably would never know if it was real , but it’s a start. It’s just the beginning of all the painful memories I do have.  Real or not it’s where my story begins.
