Out here all alone,
We want the world to know we’re there,
And remember us when we’re gone,
We want never to lose but, somehow dare enough to win,
Purpose; to content us before going we know not where,
To see old friends or, never be seen again,
In the endless fields of gold,
In the flay and fray of the pit,
Or, to become nothing,
We know we’ll never be sure,
We are stuck in the world,
We curse a watchful eye and, hope it’s there,
Naked for but a mask,
In the future living forever, failing to lose our past,
Out here all alone and, falling,
Praying somehow, we don’t die forever or,
Somehow, we find a way at least to not die twice,
That after, some piece will be somewhere,
A shooting star,
A beam of light,
A heart,
The ocean and, the drop,
Still as one yet, all together,
Out there on the ether.
