I tie-dyed my pillow last night
Once again. The color brighter
This time. Still, the strokes fade quickly
Like water brushed on the sand of a summer beach.
I grow onions on my patio
In a wooden planter
Buried in plush black soil.
Long stalks stretch out greenly,
Open-palmed,
Reaching for the sun.
Or maybe covering its eyes
To see farther in a wild field
Over tall grass and purple flowers
Bathed under the sun.
