Coming of Age


Maybe those shallow praises in school were lies when your ambitions don't align with their minds.

The rails ended where I left, and I don't want to be on their track again.

But there is no place for me in these wildlands.

And I don't know if I can survive off this desert.

These crippling thoughts of doubt in my mind won't subside.

I'm on the outside looking in from the blizzard,

And those manacles look warm tonight.

But I don't want that life.

I want a dream.

A blue oasis.


That lie.
