Poem about what to look for with The One.

We all have that one fantasy about finding the one

Our soulmate who’s destiny’s own hand brought to us

Even when you found them and you felt like you won

The question always comes if their worth all the fuss

When you truly find the one, it isn’t just a sudden connection

It’s the memories you create with one another like stacking a tower

It’s the longing to be with them even if it breaks a convention

You both build on each other and love slowly blossoms like a flower

It’s an intricate web of arguments and laughter

It’s when you think about them when your doing the simplest of task

It’s when you feel like their everything you sought after

It’s being around them and never feeling you have to wear a mask

It’s the journey you both share

The future you both feel excited about

It’s when you share your secrets that strip you bare

When you talk about your dreams without a sense of doubt

However, the most important thing that you realize with the one

Is that when you pour out your soul and the emotions you feel

Instead of hesitating and trying to run

They say this phrase, it squeaks out like a squeal

“I feel the exact same way, I love you”

Good poem, good feelings. --- And after years, if friendship walks with love, it will prevail.
