I just found this piece, written back in May 2016.

Maybe you're not so bad—

The monster's a disguise—

And what's hiding under it—

Is broken—

Maybe I can't guarantee—

That it's what it wants to be—

Maybe hiding somewhere under there—

Is a separate part of me—

And though its teeth are sharp

And though its wits are tuned

And though it knows me better than I do you,

It's broken

It's dying

And it knows that I'm a-flyin'

Away from here

Away from it

It can't hurt me no more

I'm done

I'm fine

And I'm a-soarin'

Far away from here
