This is my entry for the Review Chain competition, I hope you enjoy it! I've written a poem based off of prompt 3.

He perched upon the stool,

Eyes filled with joy,

Clutching his book,

Sat the little blonde boy,

His fingers traced the spine,

Broken and cracked,

The pages fell loose,

Barely intact,

Our little Blonde boy,

Opened page twenty-one,

And became absorbed,

In a world of fun,

He chased pirates,

Rode dragons,

Became mayor of the town,

Battled creatures,

Helped people,

Who's faces bore frowns,

And when the clouds overhead,

Became dark and grey,

He simply took a pen,

And washed them away,

He rewrote chapters,

Created new words,

Wrote away with his pen,

Until the clouds were pearly white,

And he was happy again,

So the little blonde boy,

Left page twenty-one,

And decided that,

For the day he was done,

He walked out of the room,

Thinking of games he could play,

And waiting till he could return,

Till he could write another day.

Hi there!

Excellent work. You paint a beautiful picture of an imaginative soul. It reminds me of the boy from "The Giving Tree." Before he got old and jaded and crummy :) I'm torn between the formatting. On the one hand, scrolling through it created an intriguing white space which helped me visualize your imagery. On the other hand, I felt aware of the scrolling. I am easily distracted tho :)

Thank you and great job!

Thank you for all of your feedback, I find it so helpful when people are kind about my writing but also give some constructive comments. As for the formatting, the way that I lay out my poems (a new line for each line of poetry) Booksie tends to format it differently, leaving large gaps between each of the lines that I'm not sure how to get rid of. If you knew anything about how to format poems on Booksie, I'd appreciate any information or tips you could give me.

Thanks again for reading it through,
Lily :)

I really loved your poem. I felt like it captured that joy and excitement of writing and being swept away into new worlds. It had that sense of creative fun to it.

Thank you! It's great to hear that you enjoyed it and that it did exactly what it was meant to do - describing the feeling when you're transported into a new world whilst reading or writing.

This was so awesome !

I so enjoyed the feeling of being a creator of something that doesn't exist but that the world will come to know and enjoy...

Loved it !
