“EKADOLY”

Once, in the early morning of a sunny day, a guy in his twenties, named Anas, wakes up freaked out from a nightmare that sounded very real and at the same time it wasn’t his first time to see this nightmare with the same details. Anas’s father came into his room asking whether he saw the same thing again and Anas answers “yes, it was” and after finishing their usual conversation with same questions and answers in each time Anas sees that nightmare, he went to grab a cup of coffee before he goes to take the long trip by train. He was going to spend a quiet time in his grandfather’s house after he finished last year and graduated from faculty of engineering. Anas was a very traditional student that cared only about his study and the secrets of his grandfather’s house and that’s why he was going to spend sometime there. In their way to train station, Anas was totally absent-minded. After few minutes he started to draw a sign on the window of the car. His father noticed the sign and called the grandfather immediately to tell him about the sign.

A few hours later, Anas reached his grandfather’s house. In the meanwhile, he heard a loud noise coming from the living room and they both went to check it. Anas found a book thrown on the ground. He went to pick the book from the ground checking its name which was” ABADOL” and before he opens it, his grandfather took it to hide it away from his grandson. After then, while they were setting, the grandfather mentioned that the word “ABADOL” is a Nubian word means the big grandfather without mentioning any other details about the book but Anas noticed a couple of books looked similar to the one he saw in the living room. He went to pick one of them but a strange thing happened and all of these books started to flew in the air making a screaming sound that frightened him but in a less than minute all of the books was down to the ground except for one book that was still open. Anas went to check the book that had his face showing up gradually at the first page of the book as if there was a ghost drawing it. He took the book to read the name but there was only one written word “EKADOLY” then, he could see the sign he was drawing on the window of the car. Anas hurried up to tell his grandfather who was very quiet and calm. The grandfather said nothing more than asking “did you saw the sign?”.

Anas was feeling weird about all what happened, but the grandfather started talking about the sign which stands for the word “TOYKO” that means three in the Nubian language. “mine was ABADOL with the sign WERA which is for number one. Your dads were AMBAB TOD with the sign OYOOO which stands for number 2 and all these books tells a story about the Good triumphs over evil., white and black. The whole thing starts when the book chooses you to defend it. Maybe defend its history, or a moral that the prince OWAWA, whom was kind, but the king didn’t like him” said the grandfather holding a necklace and gave to Anas with a small blue bottle holding a black liquid in it. The grandfather continued saying that the king KASHTA hated his brother ALARA and his son prince OWAWA so, he killed him to win the crown and put his son, the prince, his wife, and his children in prison but the prince wrote his story there and told his wife and children about it then he got ill and once he disappeared from that place same as his guard who used to help him.

When prince OWAWA’s son got older, he was about to burn all his father’s writings but he preferred to keep them and change a little in the endings so, he made it in the favor of evil and the morals in it was changed. Anas’s grandfather told him it was time to leave and fight for the truth. The grandfather brought the book and gave it to Anas then asked him about the name he heard in his dream. Anas said in an amazed voice “EKADOLY”. Anas’s father came and gave him an old golden key. Anas asked “so each of us has his own book that he was chosen to fight for grandfather’s was for the big grandfather and yours, dad, was for the son of his dad, and mine is EKADOLY. What does it mean?”. His father said: “it means I love you”. Once, a strong wind blew and both Anas’s father and his grandfather asked him to go to the living room immediately. He went there and saw a huge gray hawk who told Anas not to be scared but Anas was about to faint, but he could finally get himself together. The hawk left him in a place and wait for some people that will guide him during his journey to fight for the book and the moral it holds.

His journey started and he met a lot of people. Some were in his side and helped him find the way to truth, but some weren’t, and they just wanted to make the evil win, but he could get through all the events though the hard times he had. During his journey he met a girl named Marram and they went through most of the events together as two warriors. After Anas finished the journey and after all of the hard times he had to fight for the moral EKADOLY holds, once he woke up to find himself in his grandfather’s house but the thing was that he wanted to know about what happens for the people he met during the journey, specially Marram, but his grandfather told him that all of the characters he met only exist in that journey. After a while Anas saw a strange thing in the newspaper telling that a book named EKADOLY is going to be published soon. He went immediately to check the Publishing and distribution house of that book. There, he met two people looked like two different characters he met during his journey. Finally, Anas could talk to the writer of that book but had no guidance how he can meet Marram again.

Once, while Anas was sitting hopeless, he remembered a detail he and Marram agreed about that they will meet in a specific place in case if they were out of that journey and came back to real life. He went there in a hurry and Marram was standing there amazed. They started talking about how they got back to real life but once Anas was quiet and looked directly into Marram’s eyes and said, “would you marry me?”. Marram said yes and they were so happy they could meet again. After a couple of years, in the grandfather’s house, Marram and Anas was sitting happily. Meanwhile, in another place, there was a nice guy setting nervously while he was writing the last words in his book. At the same time Habiba, who’s Anas’s sister, was in the living room when the books started to flew in the air and same thing happened, only one book was open and she could see her photo on it with a different sign written clearly.
