Beneath The Grey (7)
(kept from view)
She knew what lay beneath the grey
And that I longed to see,
In innocent guise, she tried to show
Her secrets just to me,
But hid from view, they must stay
The grey adjusted so,
With one last try to show what's there
She made my longing grow,
But fate stepped in, away she went
How hard it was, she knew,
I had shown what lay beneath
But hers was kept from view.
