And in the absence of the light
the whole world went dark
and there was to be found
under the black shroud of night's pitch
A long road with nowhere to go
visible only as the trail of footsteps
left behind in your wake
under the lantern glow of your soul
as your eyes adjust to the abyss
And make it your own.
