Three Wishes?

It looks like something straight out of a fairy tale;

a rub with a rag is all it takes to reveal its surface of gold.

Aladdin’s lamp is in my hands, I could now make a wish, have it come true

if I can focus enough to know my heart’s desire and then can be so bold.

I close my eyes, my thoughts aswirl, and I give that lamp an extra rub.

No vapor, no genie! I examine the lamp close-up.

I do not have to fret again, that responsibility is not mine,

but belonged to those who found it first – the magic has all been used up.

It makes me wonder, if I had one wish, what would be my hearts desire. It would be such a hard decision, and such a big responsibility. I really enjoyed your poem, it was fun and something to think about.
