A short story of a woman who has witnessed something terrible

There was nothing but tears coming down her face. All she could do was cry when she saw their lifeless bodies. She wanted to do nothing more then screm, but could not do it. Something was holding her back.

She couldn't move even though she wanted to. She only saw her breath from the cold. All she wanted to do was hug them and hold them. All that would be in vain. Her parents came in and saw the horror she was facing.

The police came and took her to their car. While she was walking all the neighbor hood was huddling like little mice and talking about what had happened. She ducked to get inside the police car, and as she turned her head to look out the window, she saw him the man who caused all this pain. His grin made her skin crawl. All she could say was "Laughing Jack don't come back." The police drove away and the figure was gone.

This is terrifying, certainly not something to read in the dark. As terrifying as it was, it was great to read and you did such a great job at building this scene. I'm impressed how you managed to make such a short piece so gripping and scary.
