All day, every day

Cannot turn away, you have to know what's what,
After all, some producer has just busted a nut

To rush nothing onto the screen before your face
After all, it's breaking all day and they must keep pace

With the network just down the dial a few clicks
Urgent beamed on the screen tells of conflicts

Both real and what if this happens? Carnac
Magnificence screamed with or without facts,

Anything to keep us watching and glued to the T. V.,
Breaking news banner beckons to you and me

Welding in place, it's shouts a warning all day long
Must capture our attention before we are gone

Thirty second attention spans rule our days
"How can we keep you, let us make up ways!"

I got me depression from the breaking news blues
It's gone from important, don't miss, to brain-abuse

Nothing is happening beyond the president's desk,
And that is vulgar, scandalous, and/or grotesque!

Excellent, Mike. Strange how 'Breaking News' can still be 'Breaking' six hours after it first appeared too.

Funny how the media never say it is broken news. Well done.
