On A Stormy Day~ Missing You

Raindrops run down my window

The whole world’s awash in gray

I’m warm beneath my blanket

Quietly trying to find my way

In light of the revelation

That each day is borrowed time

The waves reveal to me your destiny

Why won’t they show me mine

I’ve never seen a gentler spirit

Or known a stronger soul

Never longed with such a fever

Or had to resist such anguished pull

I fear I’ve wandered from my path

Lost all that is dear to me

Yet I know today that half a world away

You are exactly where you need to be 

Does it matter that I maunder

Across time and space alone

So long as one of us has found our fate

The ethereal side of life has won

I said that I’d never try to change you

Or bend you to my will

Outside the howling winds blow

The trees to and fro

Inside I miss you still
