Poem about the phenomenon of babies.

Theirs this magic about babies that no one can explain

Their just so tiny and cute, creating a desire to protect them

Is it their bright, adorable eyes that seem to peer into our soul

Maybe it’s their delicate touch that creates such a calming sensation on the skin

Perhaps their amusing, incoherent babbling as they string together sounds to attempt to communicate

Or, it their pure, gentle nature

How they view the world with hungry curiosity

How they can just stare at the sky for hours and remained occupied

How they crave to learn from anything around them

How they wave and play with everyone without fear

Could it be, that their magic stems from the essence of humanity that we left behind

The true beauty of life that we let the world trample over

Maybe we protect them because we don’t want to lose that innocence once again
