VINTAGE CHARACTER

An artist of consumption and display

shows her wares to the eccentric, novelty shopper.
Wild masses of colour create whimsical contrast.
A broken cast leg holds the door.

A chair is used for hanging.
Hooks are mounted on a cream brick wall
displaying purses used once by the fashion leaders.
A corner of blocked hues draws the eye.

Gold and silver jewels, all luxury pieces
adorn dark counter spaces.
A young woman contemplates
a match with her outfit.

All have unusual character and superb quality.

A leather suitcase atop a bicycle carrier.

Rich camel and cobalt leather coats are predictable and “the rage.”

All on sale with a bit of squabbling.

An umbrella brightens an adjoining window

And hanging sturdily from the door,
a navy brocade coat to suit a  party that

Elton John once wore.
Small takeaways in the form of handmade cards and drawings

are precious and are taken daily for correspondence.

Each item is chosen, a specialty,

a cubicle of treasures,

our shop at 31A Broadway Street.
