How best to measure distance?

If it’s short I’ll use inches,

but for the longer ones I’d use miles.

What about when the ocean spreads

and the land sprawls?

How can I possibly measure that distance at all?

I’ll shut my eyes and let my mind roam free -

and that distance... well, it’s exactly as long as you want it to be.
