Sometimes you have to reassess priorities

Room With A View

Every morning

I open my eyes

See the ocean and skies

The pageantry

Of God’s unholy creation

Rising into a new day

Drinking in

The beauty of the bay

Terrestrial expression

Of mortal oblation

As I look out upon the day

Shaking off dreams

Of love far away

Basking one last time in this view

There’s nothing for me here

With one last look

And one final tear

I realize that I would

Rather miss all of this

Than go on missing you
