A recap of last night's Toronto/Ottawa game.

After losing to the Ottawa Senators 5-3 on Friday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs redeemed themselves with a 3-2 win last night.

Toronto outshot the Senators last night 40-19.

"We didn't spent that much time in our own end," said Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe, at the postgame press conference.

Ottawa opened the scoring at 10:55 of the first period with a goal by Nick Paul.

Joe Thornton tied the game at 14:17.

Keefe said he was really impressed with Thornton's goal.

"I thought it was a great goal," said Keefe.

 Mitch Marner put the Leafs head 2-1 1:10 into the second period.

Toronto outshot Ottawa in the second period 19-8.

Auston Matthews scored his first goal of the season 2:42 into the third period to put Toronto ahead 3-1.

Ottawa's German rookie, Tim Stutzel, scored his first ever National Hockey League goal at 11:44.

Marner had three points last night.

Ottawa's goalie, Matt Murray stopped 37 shots last night.

Toronto plays the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow night.
