Is there a God?

This is perhaps the most asked question in history. It also seems to be one of the hardest things that could ever be proven. At least one time in everyone's life, it's almost certain that this question will pop up in your head no matter how empty or full of stuff it may be. From the smartest of us to the simplest of us, it is something that to some degree sparks are interest.

Many religions, cults, and gurus, philosophers and scientists, have tried to offer an explanation to weather A God, exists or not. And with the idea of a God, comes many other questions. Is there only one?

What is God like? What does God look like? Where is God now? Does God speak to us? Is God loving or wrathful? Is God eternal, or was God created? How powerful is He...or she...or it...

There are really no limits to the questions asked about this God being. But I would like to offer at least a few points to ponder.

First I should state that this is not focusing on the God as spoke of in any one view or religion. For now I am only offering points to show why I belive there is a God and that God exist. Nothing else concerning God will be discussed here.

The first point I want to make is this.

1. How is everything in the universe here?

Well you have two choices.

Either our natural existence was created by a supernatural means, or our natural existence created itself from literal nothingness.

There is a third alternative that states that perhaps everything in the universe has always existed.

Let's use logic to prove that wrong now.

Everything that exist falls into one of three categories. Time, space, and matter. You cannot have one without having all three. For instance, if you have matter, then when would you put it, (time) and where would you put it (space)

If you take away all matter, than you dont have space, you have nothingness. And if there is no changes in matter over time than there is no need for time. Without matter, you simply have eternal nothingness.

Now if everything always existed than consider this. If there was an infinite amount of time before this moment right now, then we could not have reached this moment right now. Therefore there must have been a beginning!

So was God before the beginning then? How does that make sense?

It doesnt and that's the point of the supernatural. You cannot understand supernatural things by using natural thinking. This is where faith comes into play. You belive something without understanding it. Much like a child has faith a car works. There is an explanation, but it is far beyond childlike understanding.

Let's look at a couple more points.

Imagine you are a crime investigator and you find fingerprints at the sceane of the crime. Is there a detective in the world that would say "We should not examine these prints because they could have been made by several chance occurrences!" ?

No! That would be ludicrous and any detective that failed to take fingerprints into consideration on the chance that the prints aren't from a person, would be mocked and the detective may lose his job and the case. Ofcourse any fingerprints would always 100 percent if the time would be assumed to come from some person that was there. So if those prints COULD NOT be a random accident....what about the prints that are one the fingers of the person that made them?!

Take mount Rushmore for example. Four images of presidents sculpted into a rock. With such detail, is there any chance that they were made from wind and erosion over thousands of years? No! Then what about the actual men they where made after? We arnt taking about a rock that looks like a man here, much like a cloud that can be interpreted in many ways. We are talking about a highly detailed sculpter!

One final point for now I'd like to submit to you is the idea that a God exists because God can be imagined.

Now I may have lost some of you but try to stay with me. Let's say I belive in a flying, fire breathing, hamster. Now you laugh and we know that's made up, but the fact is, I pulled dreamt up that imaginary creature by using things that exist. There are hamsters. There are things that fly. And fire and breathing are real things. If I said this hamster had a horn on his head, you may think of a big horn, or a small horn, or even a car horn, but you think of something that is based on reality...a horn. If I said he had a hergado on his head (as far as I know hergado is a word I made up) each reader would come up with a different idea of what a hergado is. That's because you have no clue what I mean by a hergado. You may think it's a body part. It could be a creature. It could be an article of clothing. There is no way to tell without more to go on.

But I say a horned fire breathing hamster, than you have some idea.

God is the same way. All man generally agree that A God is an invisible, powerful being if nothing else. Why? It's like the hamster. We cant all agree on everything about the fire breathing hamster but because the elements of such a thing exists, we have a general idea. Same with God. We generally agree on what God is because the elements of God exist in reality. If I said I belive in the hergado, then do you really belive that would gain any recognition? No! Because it's based on an idea without any description. No one could get behind it because without more to go on, there would be nothing to unite even a small cult following.

These points in no way provide proof but to the atheist I only ask this.

Do you know everything? No? Let's say you know half of everything.

That would be a stretch but if you did know half of everything, isnt it possible that God only exist in the other half that you dont know?

Just some food for thought.

I hope that I have giving you some ideas that you haven't thought of before and found this reading to be enlightening or entertaining at least.

While there are many more points I could bring up, I thought that these would be the best for this short reading.

If God does exist as I belive, then may this God bless you and keep you.

Take care and thanks for reading!!!

• I believe in God as a creative and designing force in the Universe, I do not believe in a Christian god, Muslim god, or any religious god. Religions are man-made enterprises for money and survival. God, and religion, are two completely different things, One is Unknowable and Divine God as Creative Force), the other is a repulsive and man-made tool of mind control (religion). So, I am certainly not an atheist (I do believe in God), but I am not religious at all ( I do not believe in man-made systems).

Good point in conclusion. --- There is the concept of, John 1:1 --- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." ---

Yes I agree. By Gods word, the universe (universe means uni or one and verse or spoken sentence) was created. That word was made into flesh...Jesus Christ.
