Variations in weather and temperature when Winter mocks the Spring in Southeast Texas.

A beautiful, beautiful morning on the lake. The lake water is a fantastic azure blue and the sky isa lighter blue with a few wispy clouds here and there while the sun is shining very bright. Temperatures almost feel like Spring is here and Winters has returned to hibernation.

But this seems to be the season of variables. As beautiful as it was a few days ago, it is now a cloudy, damp world with a drop from Spring back to Winter temperatures. The days warm to the 60s and 70s but the nights can’t seem to decide whether to be sweater or coat time.

One night it drops to mid to low 40sthen rises to the 50s or 60s the next night. Sadly it is overcast and gloomy no matter the temperature. I dread going out the door to shiver in the cold and I really miss seeing the stars but then life must go on.

Last night the crescent moon visited and the stars were beautiful again. On nights like this I would let my precious Bear stay out longer when no clouds marred the view and I could enjoy the beauty of the sky I so seldom can see this time of year.

But Bear is now at the Rainbow Bridge so I no longer care what the night sky offers. I no longer have reason to go out and gaze at the sky or care what the temperature outside may be. Without someone to share it with it pales and is too lonely.

This morning was very different indeed. The fog obscured the far side of the lake and even the lake itself. I could barely see the trailers below me. It made everything appear mysterious as if most of the park and world just suddenly disappeared.

Gradually the parkreappeared followed by the lake then lake’s farther shore. But the farther shore is closer now that the lake is suffering drought,. Many feet of added shore is dwindling the lake between. With all the clouds where is the rain the lake so needs?

Still a pale blue sky with beaming bright sun is kissing the lake that quietly reflects a slightly darker blue. The still variable weather provides a temperature of 80that feels like Summer is here but I knowWinters has not returned to hibernation.
