"Love knows no distance. My love for you knows no distance."

Gurgaon, January 23- When it comes to true love stories, there is no dearth of lovers and their efforts to express themselves. The world is full of passionate lovers out there who will go the extra mile to tell their loved ones how special they are what they mean to them. And what we are about to tell you is also a similar story of someone who did that little bit extra.

Piya and Srikanth had been in love for over an year. In February Sri (as his friends called him) was sent on a 2 months assignment to Chennai. The couple had fallen in love while working in the technology department of the same company. Sri was two levels senior to Piya and left for Chennai with promises to stay in touch and discuss their future when he came back. Then the lockdown happened and Sri got stuck alone in Bangalore. Piya continued to stay in Delhi with her friends and worked from home. Life became a drag with the days occupied with work and the nights with thoughts of Sri. The couple missed each other immensely and were craving to meet. But with the lockdown and the subsequent scanty flights issue, they just couldn’t meet. Sri wasn’t allowed by his company to travel back.

Piya was determined to visit Sri in Bangalore and checked the train routes. There was a long distance train that would take 2 days and take her there. She booked her tickets and packed her bags and was all set to reunite. All this while, Sri didn’t know about it and was about to be surprised. But what was supposed to be the ultimate surprise turned into a shock. When Piya got down at the Bangalore railway station , she fell and hurt her foot. She slithered in pain as passerby’s helped her. It seemed it was a major sprain as she couldn’t even lift her foot. Someone dialed her emergency contact which was listed as Sri.

He was shocked when he came to know and was in disbelief. He forgot about everything and rushed to the railway station. On the way, gathering his thoughts he was overwhelmed that  she was doing this for him. Risking her life during the pandemic and coming to see him and surprise him! A rush of emotions later his decision was made. He was going to propose her. He made a few calls and 30 minutes later, there was full commotion at the railway station Platform 5.

There was a band baaja and full baraati to welcome Piya. Sri was dressed up as a groom and singing the song’ Tainu Le Ke Main Jaawaga’ on the lous speaker. Piya’s tears of pain turned to tears of joy as she saw her beau. Sri went down on his knees and proposed. Piya cried some more and said yes, several times. Sri had arranged for an RTV for her to be moved from the station platform. The decorated RTV looked no less than a hi-tech chariot for the soon to be married couples.

Such are the stories of couples who fall in love and display their love. Piya and Sri are just one example of a couple who discover love.
