Super Glue

I think you knew you broke my heart,

when you tossed it away

and let it fall.

Shattered fragments that flowed out into the sea.

I roamed the beach, waiting for the tide to turn,

empty, like some kind of ghost upon the shore.

I found the pieces, at least enough of them to fashion out a new one

and I stuck it all together with a tube of super glue.
