LOVE’S LAST SONG
The ghosts of kisses lost
mark time and mourn the cost;
the empty hours now mock the times
I penned soft words of love and rhymes,
of how God made all that is good and true
simply as practice for the molding of you.

I love the balance of sentimentality and despair in this poem. There's also just a hint of nostalgia, especially in the middle two lines. Thank you for writing and sharing this with everyone.
