You don't care

You never have

Maybe it's beyond you

Or maybe it's just too easy not to

You're so quick to condemn

To moralize and condescend

Sure, you "earned" your prosperity

While those beneath you were simply weak

You pretend like you want to help

As long as no "leeches" loot off you

You always signal your generosity

Provided only the "worthy" get it

The rest must live in fear

Even if they're not at the bottom, they live in fear

Because we know we can't trust you

Our loved ones know they can't trust you

If something were to go wrong, you wouldn't help us

We're not good enough for you

And yet, you expect us to kneel

To sing your praises and exalt your virtue

Because your pitiful, fragile ego

Needs to be convinced of its righteousness

Of its worthiness

And if we rise up

If we lash out

If we scare you even the slightest bit

You'll condemn us, punish us, wring your hands

Because how dare we question the rightful stewards of our world?

How dare we know you for the heartless, decadent fiend you truly are?

Your false words of honey, your cruel words of condescension,

I shouldn't heed them in the slightest,

Because I see through your act.

You. Don't. Care
