A good day

Waking up in the morning

To the sound of birds chirping

And the feel of the generous sun shining

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Looking out the window

To be greeted by flowers peeking out of the melting snow

Oh what a beautiful show

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Getting washed and dressed 

In crisp cotton clothes

Newly washed 

Warm

And clean smelling

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Eating a simple yet delicious breakfast

While sipping a bit over sweetened coffee

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Leaving the house and heading to work (Or school)

I feel the thrill of going out into the world

Whether with a mask or tons of hand sanitizer

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Waving to all that I see

“Hey” they say

Before bustling off like me

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Sitting down on a more than slightly hard chair

And starting to get into my most concentrated work mode

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Adding a finishing touch before getting up to eat some lunch

Garlic bread 

And caesar salad with croutons that crunch

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Sliding back into work mode

There is much to be done

And no current time for fun

But I still know

That it’s going to be a good day

Wrapping up and heading back home

I feel accomplished and proud

Confident and sure

Happy and content

I know that it’s going to be a good day

Once home I don’t hold back from music as I do some more work

Eat a small dinner

And finally relax and have a bit of fun

I know that it’s going to be a good day

When I finally slip back into my small

Comfortable bed

I have confirmed 

That the day that has just passed 

Was not just good

But a great day!
