Her lips touched mine in an instant and every single detail on her face I could see closer than ever. Has no one ever noticed a mole hidden on your right eyebrow?

She slowly backed away, opened her eyes and smiled. “How was that?” she asked.

I snapped back into reality and looked away from her. I couldn’t stop blushing. Why did she do that!? I thought. I was thinking of running away but forgot the fact that she’s holding my hand. I took a deep breath and turned back towards her.

As I was trying to speak she let go of my hand and puts her stuff that was on the table onto her bag. She stood up, wore her bag on her back, said goodbye and left the class. Leaving me sitting alone all confused and filled with butterflies in my stomach.

It was the next day and my thought was filled with what just happened yesterday. Her soft lips, the smell of perfume, and the gentle blow of her breath. I couldn’t think of anything else but her. So much so that I had forgotten that Lisa was here.

“Hey, Sam!” she called for me as I entered my classroom. I was surprised and remembered once again that she is now here, once again in my life.

I approached my seat and put everything on my desk. I sat down and stared aimlessly thinking about what had just occurred yesterday. Then when the bell had rung I had just barely missed my attendance call.

Few hours had passed and once again it was lunch. I asked Lisa if she wanted to eat together and she happily accepted my invitation. We went over to the canteen and got ourselves some food and drink.

We sat on a table that was empty and enjoyed our food. But in the middle of eating, she stopped and asked. “Is something wrong, Sam?”

I hesitantly replied, “N-no, not really. There’s nothing to worry about.”

As I was finished with my reply, someone came over to our table and sat next to me. It was Cindy. She smiled at us and asked whether she could sit with us.

“No problem,” Lisa smiled.

Cindy sat really close near me, I could feel her leg touching mine. My flight instinct are kicking in but it would be rude to Lisa and it would’ve been weird to just go without saying anything. All they could do is just smile at each other and eat their food. But for me, it felt as if I was trapped.

Cindy looks at Lisa, “Since how long have you known Sam?” she asked.

“Shouldn’t we begin with introductions? I’m Lisa,” she said.

“Cindy, but everybody here knows who I am,” she snickered.

“Are you… like his friend?”

“You could say that,” She then grabbed my hand and hugged it. I could… feel it. “And yourself? How did you guys know each other?”

“We’re old friends from when we were Elementary. We went to the same school in the same country.”

“Ah I’ve heard! And how has it been recently? Since you obviously had to leave that country and come here,”

“What do you mean?”

And the back and forth conversation, couldn’t leave at all because of how Cindy is holding me down. It feels as if I was trapped between two female predators, and I was the prey.

It was finally over and once again it was a few hours of peace until it was time we went home. I packed my things, said goodbye to Lisa. And then I walked out of the school with Rick.

“Dude, what’s up with you and Cindy?” Rick asked.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about” I replied.

“You got to be joking, she was holding you tight at lunch! And it was as if she was fighting over you with Lisa,”

“Wait, you saw all that?”

“Are you an idiot? We’re at the canteen, EVERYBODY saw that!”

And just as he said that, we were stopped by a group of guys from the badminton team. And there I could see Jerome looking dead in the eyes towards me. He walked closer and I could sense that he was angry towards me.

“What does Cindy has to do with you, Samuel?” he asked.

“I’m sorry?”

“At lunch, why the hell did she sat next to you holding your hand like you two were dating or something? The hell did you do Samuel?”

Rick, who was in Taekwondo club, stepped in and said, “Back off, Jerome. She was the one who interrupted them,”

“This has nothing to do with you, Rick. Back off,”

“Make me,” Rick stared towards his eyes challenging him. Jerome knew of Rick’s ability at Taekwondo. Everybody knew he’s a black belt national championship winner. Against a group of guys who’s agile, he’s probably faster.

Jerome suddenly shifted his attitude. “I’m sorry guys, it’s just that we’re having a competition in a few weeks, and I don’t want her slacking off,” he pats on my shoulder, hard.

Then he and his group of guys left us alone. We both looked at each other and shrugged. Then Rick said to me that made me shiver, “Sam, from now on you’re probably fucked.”
