I’m doing what I need

Sharing Needles

I’ve often heard it said

Sharing needles is bad

That many of those who do

Wind up dead

Whether they freeze

O.D. or succumb to disease

Nary a tear shall be shed

Dying in anonymity

Makes no difference to me

My drug habits are my own

Some drugs react fast

Like my Humalog KwikPen

Designed to dial in

On the zone

Some not so much

Like Lantus SoloStar

It takes hours to do its thing

Then there’s the Eligard shot

Which takes months to work

With a list of side effects

That is pretty staggering

I’m really not concerned

By any of that

I shoot these drugs for my health

Maintenance or treatment

It’s just semantics to me

And for the record

I only share needles with myself
