Do we trust them, or not?

Some call it a hunch

Or a gut feeling

Those things we do

For no real reason at all

When we listen to

The inner voice

That guides all of our decisions

Every choice

When we rely on

Some primordial inclination

To make the call

I’ve always trusted

My instincts

To provide sound counsel

And here I am still alive

To recount my tale

Learning to trust oneself

Without cause

Is an unwritten law

Which allows spirit

Over intellect to prevail
