Lingering

You might think me somewhat silly,

the way I’m sure you have not gone,

but within the atmosphere

you still do linger on.

In search of something concrete

I’ll put a candle there -

I strike a match, light the wick

your breath then makes it flare!

That's all the proof I'm going to need

to show that you've not left;

but still I'm feeling hollow

for of your pressence I'm bereft.
