A winter walk by the Caledonian Canal and being blessed. A coming together of song and experience

Notwithstanding the woman with the dog

Gloving her hand in a black plastic bag

And picking up a warm fresh deposit

Its wafting stench squatting in my nostrils

Canal- side coffee, low Sun in my face. Serenity!

Sharpness of winter light, pale sky blue, the water

'Singing Ringing Tree' frozen, opaque as a

Bathroom window, ice- shackled Cruisers. In this

The coldest of seasons, elevating beauty

Blesséd sliding-door-warmth, and air-pod

Praise and hope with Mickey Newbury,

'Glory, glory, hallelujah, glory glory, hallelujah

All my trials Lord, will soon be over,

All my trials Lord, will soon be over '
