Michael is walking home from a bar, after something happened. But he soon realizes the truth about what had just happened.

Michael walked down the road with his head down. After what had happened, he didn’t want anyone to see him.

Are they staring?

He looked at a young couple making out against a tree on the side of the street. They clearly hadn’t noticed him. He walked on.

What am I gonna tell Matthew?

He realized there were still stains on his shirt. He immediately zipped up his jacket to hide it.

Don’t be stupid, Michael. You can’t tell him anything.

Michael looked around to see if anyone was watching. He noticed someone staring at him from across the street.

Don’t acknowledge them, you’ll just seem suspicious.

The more he walked on, though, the harder they looked at him. He decided to walk over to them.

“Why are you stari-”

It was then he realized it was a very realistic statue.

Why would someone put that here?

He walked on, passing by an old, abandoned building.

He thought back to what had just happened.

There were two guys that had just walked into the bar. One of them was Michael, the other was his friend, David. They had just gotten back from their trip to France.

Another two guys noticed them and walked up to them.

There were two bangs, two gunshots, and two guys were dead. One of the guys was lying facedown on the bar floor.

Michael’s memory was fuzzy after that.

Why though? It just happened 15 minutes ago.

Michael thought of David; a look of fear flashed across his face before it was covered in blood.

Michael shuddered.

15 minutes had passed since then. He had just been walking towards his house. He had a pain in his side, but he ignored it.

He wondered why it was taking so long to get to his house.

He passed by an old abandoned building.

He whipped around and looked at it. Didn’t he just pass that very same building?

He looked around again. Just up ahead, he noticed a young couple making out against a tree.

The same two people.

Then it finally dawned on him.

Ghosts were trapped in one place, one place to haunt.

That blood on David’s face was Michael’s.

He remembered now. He saw the gun point at his chest, the trigger getting pulled. He felt the bullet hit his heart, his blood stop pumping through his veins.

He remembered David stole the gun from him and accidentally shot the other guy.

It all came back to him. No more talking to David, no more talking to Matthew, no more Michael.

He silently cried to himself as a car passed through him.
