A Topsy Turvy Day

The dog is getting hungry

so he’s chasing down his tail;

the cat sees off the postman

who’s delivering the mail;

the mouse gives chase and scares the cat,

oh, what is going on?

It’s a topsy turvy day alright -

a topsy turvy day.

There are adults in the playground

and the kids lay down the rules;

the horses work in garages,

real handy with the tools;

there’s a sheep behind the checkout

and a goat who’s stocking shelves...

It’s a topsy turvy day alright -

a topsy turvy day.

The cow, she drives a tractor,

while the humans graze in fields;

the pigs are in discussion

all about the crops and yields;

the birds are under water

and the fish are in the sky...

It’s a topsy turvy day alright -

a topsy turvy day.

People whisper out their anger,

shout into an offered ear;

those that have a birthday

seem to tremble with their fear;

everything is messed up,

twisted round and turned about...

It’s a topsy turvy day alright -

a topsy turvy day.

And I really wish I knew quite why!

Day is night, night is day. Your poem describes a bizzaro world.
