Cold Snap in Wisconsin
People walk faster,
No time for leisure.
Is that guy shivering,
Or having a seizure.
Everyone's smoking,
At least it looks so outside.
Jack Frost is home here,
Has no reason to hide.
Scandinavians and Germans
Are hardy, we know.
But even they get shivers
When they look out the window.
Three layers of wool, one of fleece,
One of down,
Five layers of warmth,
Just to drive across town.
Twenty minutes before hand
Warm up the car,
This is Wisconsin
So we head to the bar.
Corona be damned,
Or whatever the case is,
Twenty minutes up here
It will be put into stasis.
